Peter Boulware is the owner of Peter Boulware Toyota in Tallahassee. He graduated from Florida State University in 1997 with a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. That same year, he was chosen by the Baltimore Ravens as the fourth overall pick in the NFL Draft. During his nine year career with the Ravens, he was selected to 4 Pro Bowls, was the 1997 Rookie of the Year, and played in and won Super Bowl XXXV.

While in Baltimore, he founded the Peter Boulware Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides mentoring for underprivileged children in the inner city schools. He also sponsored 16 youth tackle teams through Baltimore City Parks & Recreation, was the spokesperson for the NFL “Punt, Pass & Kick” Program, annually hosted a group of children at “Camp Sunrise” which is a program through the American Cancer Society and hosted the JC Penny “Take a Player to School” Program. He is a former Board Member of the University of Maryland Medical Children’s Hospital, a current member of the Florida State University Athletics Committee and was appointed by Governor Charlie Crist to the Florida State Board of Education.

As you can see, Peter has a passion for education and for children. He has spent the last 15 years traveling around the country, speaking to kids about the importance of education, hard work, values, discipline and leadership. It is this passion that is the motivation for the Community Leadership Academy. Peter is married to Kensy Boulware and has five children.

Kensy came to Tallahassee and Florida State University in 1997. She played volleyball for FSU and graduated in 2000 with a degree in Audiology & Speech Pathology. She is currently raising their five children.

Godly Education has always been something that Peter and Kensy have desired for their children. They believe that Parents are children’s first and most important teachers. They also know that Parental Involvement in the education process is a huge commitment. Their heart is to help families in this commitment, to see their children be all that God has called them to be, and to raise the next generation of godly leaders.

What Makes CLA Unique?

We are an educational model that combines classroom and at-home learning. The best of both worlds. This result is a well-balanced education tailored to the student’s individual needs.[

Our heart is to provide help to those parents desiring to be involved in the education of their children. Parents of every educational background can teach their children with the help of CLA. Teaching a student may seem intimidating to those without experience, but parents only need to care about their children to be able to instruct them. You can depend on the teacher’s lesson plans. Parents can be involved in an academic program with the child(ren) and still enjoy a high level of support and accountability in the process

Our unique Leadership Program focuses on ten Leadership qualities that help to produce a generation of Godly leaders that will affect our homes, our communities and our world. Not only are students taught and trained in the character traits of godly leaders, but they are also given opportunities to practice these leadership skills in service projects that they themselves plan and execute. Along the way, students are also coached in habits that make leaders highly effective in what they do.

College and Career Research

Our College and Career Research Program helps CLA high school students prepare for their educational and vocational futures. Every student is mentored and provided opportunities to shadow a variety of professions, hear from guest speakers from varied professional fields, explore their own unique career interests, build their personal resume, take dual enrollment coursework, prepare their college essays and applications, apply for scholarships, and serve in executive internships.

We started with a bold new vision, and saw an idea whose time had come.

We challenged the boundaries of the status quo, and looked for innovative solutions to meet the academic and nurturing needs of today’s busy families.

We explored the natural connection between church, school and home and discovered an exciting, new, more effective way to weave these ancient pillars of community together.

We took the best of home schooling and group schooling and created a new educational model that gives parents the ability to be involved in an academic program with the child(ren), and still enjoy a high level of support and accountability in the process.  We have added in program options to make sure that any family, regardless of finances and work schedules, can participate in and enjoy the benefits of this educational community.

We call it Community Leadership Academy!
